PALO ALTO, Calif. - July 16, 2007 - Intalio, Inc., The Open Source BPMS Company, today announced that Coghead, the leading vendor of hosted application development tools, successfully replaced its BPEL process engine with Intalio|Server, thereby achieving a dramatic increase in performance.
Coghead provides a multi-tenant platform allowing tech-savvy businesspeople to create, manage, and deploy their own web-based applications. At the core of this platform is a BPEL engine responsible for the execution of automated processes and human workflows. For its previous release, Coghead used another BPEL engine that was not natively designed for multi-tenancy. As a result, restarting the process engine would take up to 24 hours. Using Intalio|Server, the same operation can be completed in less than 7 seconds.
"A key differentiator for Coghead is the ability to easily create custom web applications that have relatively sophisticated workflow and business process application capabilities. Intalio|Server has allowed us to greatly simplify the execution and management of business processes, and that translates into a better experience for Coghead developers and users," said Paul McNamara, Coghead CEO.
"The performance level achieved by Coghead when using Intalio|Server in a massive multi-tenant environment is absolutely breathtaking," said Ismael Ghalimi, Intalio founder and CEO. "Over 100,000 different processes can be safely deployed on one single CPU, making Intalio|Server the most cost effective solution for supporting very large scale projects. This confirms our belief that open-source BPM has reached a level of maturity that is sufficient for most applications."
